When you visit our website or app, your device automatically sends data for technical reasons. The following data is stored separately from other data you may provide to us:

We store this data for the following purposes:

Your IP address is stored only for a period of 14 days. In this case, the processing is based on our overriding legitimate interests as described above (Art. 6, para. 1, lit.f GDPR).

Registration Data

To use all the functions of Peerpep, you need to register. For this, you must provide the following mandatory information:

Alternatively, you can log in with your Facebook, Google, or Apple account. In that case, we receive the following personal data from Facebook or Apple to create a user account for you:

If you log in via Facebook, your Facebook friends who also use Peerpep can find you via the search function if you wish and have the correct settings enabled on Facebook.

Your registration data is required to create and manage a user account for you so that you can use all the functions of our website. In this case, you are entering into a (free) user agreement with us, based on which we collect this data (Art. 6, para. 1, b GDPR). To enter into the agreement, you must provide us with this data. However, you are not contractually or legally obligated to enter into the agreement and thus to provide the data.

In addition, you can provide further voluntary information during registration, such as uploading a profile picture, telling others about yourself, or indicating your favorite sport. This information is voluntary and not required for registration. Please note, however, that this information may be visible to other Peerpep users based on your settings. You can decide whether you want to be found by other users. We collect this data to offer you the corresponding functions of our website, Art. 6, para. 1, lit. b GDPR.

When you log in to Peerpep, we also temporarily store your IP address to detect and prevent possible attacks and large-scale abuse of logins to Peerpep (e.g., so-called brute force attacks) by blocking access to these IP address blocks if necessary. The processing takes place to ensure the security of the processing in accordance with Article 32 GDPR and based on our legitimate interest to protect ourselves from the misuse of our service (Art. 6, para. 1, lit.f GDPR). The storage only takes place as long as necessary for these purposes.

5. Community Features

At Peerpep, you can interact with other users, for example, by publishing personal highlights or commenting. You can also add other users as friends if you want to stay updated on their new posts. Using these features is, of course, voluntary. If you use them, we collect the data you have entered to make it available to other Peerpep users in accordance with your settings and the feature you use. If you wish, we will also inform you by email or push notification if there is news about your published contributions. You can set which notifications you receive in your settings. Your data is processed for these purposes to provide you with the functions as part of your user agreement (Art. 6, para. 1, lit. b GDPR).

6. Inquiries

If you send us inquiries via email or other means, your data will be stored and used to process the inquiry. We store inquiries related to contracts or of possible legal relevance for the retention period prescribed by law. Further processing is restricted. Once the legal retention period has expired, the data will be deleted. Inquiries are processed based on our overriding legitimate interests to respond to your inquiry (Art. 6, para. 1, lit. f GDPR). Your data will be deleted in accordance with legal regulations once we no longer need them.
